The Brentwood-Darlington Neighborhood Association does a great job representing themselves online, but I had a few questions for Chelsea Powers, the board’s chair.

“As per current bylaws, all board seats are available every year in May and continuing board members must renew,” she wrote in an email.  We currently have 10 active board members, down from the original 13 elected last May.  All members are elected as general board members (aka Members at Large) and then the board members elect the elected officers (Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Secretary).”

They also appoint two un-elected offices: Land Use Chair and SEUL Representative.

The board can have up to 21 members, she also said.

Elections are being held at the Brentwood-Darlington Community Center Thursday, May, 3rd.

Meetings are regularly held on the 1st Thursday of the month. For more information on the position including roles and time commitment expectations, go here.

You can declare your candidacy using their online form or in-person with this paper form at the meeting.

If you can’t make the meeting, I will be filming it and posting it online for Village Portland.
