This month’s Lents Neighborhood Association meeting might be interesting to some Brentwood-Darlington residents:

There’ll be a discussion on the possibility of People’s Co-op expanding into Lents, and:
“State of schools in Lents, with guests Special guests: State Representative Jeff Reardon; Portland Public Schools (PPS) Board Member Michael Rosen; and David Douglas School District Chair Frieda Christopher.”

2nd Annual East Portland Arts & Literary Festival:

“Through main stage performances, interactive workshops, an epic book & craft fair, kid-friendly activities, and more, EPALF will explore themes of healing, health, and wellness in alignment with this year’s MicCheck!

Suggested donation is $5, and no one will be turned away from lack of funds.”

SATURDAY

Wetland Restoration Planting at Powell Butte (event):

“Help us do an infill planting at a very special wetland corner of Powell Butte!”

Restoration Work Party with Friends of Errol Heights (event):

“Litter pick up, invasive species removal, and site prep!

No experience necessary! Wear long thick pants, a long-sleeved shirt and sturdy shoes. Bring a water bottle, rain gear, warm clothes and a sunhat. Instruction, tools, gloves, water, coffee/tea and snacks provided. Children welcome, and must be accompanied by an attentive adult.”

Lents International Farmers Market:

“Portland’s only internationally focused market, LIFM provides fresh, affordable, and culturally unique produce to the diverse Lents community and offers farm-direct sales opportunities for immigrant, emerging farmers, and new business owners. In addition to standard market produce, the market features a variety of unique fresh produce from Hmong, Latino, & Russian farmers.”

The market is held every Sunday until Nov 18th.

Community Cooking Workshop:

“We will be cooking a meal together led by one of our Community Chefs, and then having our meal together. This is a space for sharing food and knowledge with one another at a common table.

All ages welcome, childcare will be provided to support your participation.  Language interpretation provided for Spanish speakers.

Please let us know of your dietary restrictions and needs. Vegan/vegetarian options available.We encourage everyone to bring containers to take leftovers home with you!

Suggested cost $5 – $15, no one ever turned away for lack of funds.
