This weekend

Portland Central Church of the Nazarene near 99th and Powell will be opening its warming shelter Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights beginning at 7 pm, partnering with Agape Village. This shelter can house up to 150 folks.

Thanks to an update from chair Chelsea Powers, it seems like a lot was finalized at the January Brentwood-Darlington Community Association meeting:

The final plan for Errol Heights Park has been completed! Some cool new features are a space to skate, playground, and splash pad.  It’s also worth pointing out that even though there was some concern it would be moved, the community garden is being kept in its existing space.

The NA is also keeping a list of resources for federal workers during the government shutdown. Find that here.

Here’s a list of events for the summer that have been finalized:

Office of Community & Civic Life gave an update to Portland City Council on how it has shifted resources and its approach to outreach.

As our City struggles with how to manage homelessness, conflicting visions played out clearly in Montavilla:

OPB‘s Think Out Loud hosted Jeff Church from Montavilla Initiative and David Linn former chair of the Montavilla Neighborhood Association chair to discuss the homelessness. Listen here.
